Chatham Town FC and BAE Systems Join Forces to Enhance Community Outreach Across Medway
Chatham Town Football Club and BAE Systems are delighted to announce a new community collaboration that will bring together the strengths, experience and resources of both organisations to create greater opportunities and deliver positive social impact across Medway.
With strong connections to the local area, both organisations share a commitment to supporting communities, inspiring future generations and making a meaningful difference to people’s lives.
The collaboration will help enhance Chatham Town FC’s existing community outreach programmes while exploring new initiatives that benefit children, young people, families and the wider Medway community.
By combining the club’s established community engagement through sport and education with BAE Systems’ expertise, local presence and commitment to social responsibility, the collaboration aims to extend the reach and impact of activities across the area.
Kevin Hake, Chairman and First Team Manager of Chatham Town FC, said:
“Football clubs have a unique ability to bring people together and create opportunities beyond the game itself.
“We know sport can build confidence, create lasting friendships and have a positive impact on people’s lives. By working alongside BAE Systems, we’ll be able to reach even more people across Medway and make an even bigger difference within our Community.”
Working Together to Make a Difference
The collaboration will explore opportunities across education, careers, mental health and wellbeing, community participation, volunteering and recognition of local community champions.
Both organisations are committed to developing initiatives that respond to local needs, encourage inclusion and provide meaningful opportunities for people from different backgrounds and age groups.
Dave Banks, Site Director for BAE Systems in Rochester, said:
“This collaboration is about creating opportunities and bringing people together. Whether that’s helping a young person access football for the first time, supporting schools, recognising community champions or encouraging volunteering, we want to make a positive difference to the place we’re proud to call home.
“Both organisations have deep roots in Medway and share a commitment to supporting the communities around us. We’re excited to see what we can achieve together this season.”
The collaboration represents an opportunity to build on existing foundations, share ideas and work together towards a common goal: a stronger, more connected Medway community.
