CHATHAM TOWN TO RAISE FUNDS FOR LOCAL CHARITY SABOTAGED BY THIEVES

A local Charity in Chatham High Street named “Second Chance Medway”, set up to help the homeless and victims of domestic violence, has been sabotaged by thieves.

This saw the Charities front doors smashed with money stolen from the till and other items stolen.

As a Community club we are appalled to see such a sad state of affairs and a Charity, who on average look after 2,000+ people and their families, targeted in such a way.

Chatham Town will support Second Chance Medway by raising funds on Saturday 11 November as we welcome Whitehawk FC to the Bauvill Stadium. Collection buckets will be situated at the turnstiles, around the ground and inside the clubs main bar area. We urge supporters to be generous if they can.

Further to this, we will also take part in a parade in Chatham’s High Street on Friday 3 November. Club personnel and members of our Youth will all be getting involved to hopefully bring them closer to reaching their £1,500 goal.

This kind of behaviour has no place in our society and we will do everything in our power to help stamp it out.
